I am a Mumbai-based film editor and story consultant specializing in independent documentaries and narrative fiction. With an MA in Comparative Literature and an editing specialization from the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI), I approach the cutting room as a space to find a film's true emotional core. For me, a film's soul often lies in its sonic architecture—the silences, the ambient breathing room, and the unspoken pauses.

My journey into unscripted storytelling began at SRFTI after transcribing for the Łódź Film School's documentary project, The World from Dawn till Dusk. That experience, alongside DOCEDGE masterclasses, cemented my profound respect for the documentary form. My path was further shaped by my student documentary, Beneath the Bud, which explored the uncertain lives of tea workers and earned an official selection at the 36th VGIK International Student Festival in Moscow. Today, I collaborate with independent filmmakers worldwide to help honest, rooted stories reach a global audience.

For me, documentary editing is a process of quiet discovery, requiring the discipline to let the footage speak for itself. For Fatima, I spent two years distilling 300 hours of raw rushes into a film that won the Satyajit Ray Golden Award for Best Documentary (2025) at the 8th South Asian Short Film Festival and is currently streaming on SBS Australia. My diploma film, An Irrelevant Dialogue, became the first SRFTI student project to stream on MUBI India. I also served as Associate Editor crafting funding sizzles for And, Towards Happy Alleys, which premiered at the 73rd Berlinale.

Fully equipped for remote collaboration across Avid, Premiere Pro, and Resolve, I act as an active creative partner—whether consulting at the scripting stage, cutting pitch trailers, assembling rough cuts, or delivering final offline edits. Driven by a commitment to artisanal cinema, I am actively building a body of work as I transition toward independent creative producing.
