I am a Mumbai-based film editor and story consultant specializing in independent documentaries and narrative features. I gravitate toward character-driven impact stories, slice-of-life pieces, and observational cinema exploring gender, environmental sustainability, and systemic realities.

For me, editing is a process of quiet discovery. As a trained musician, I often unearth a film's soul through its sonic architecture—the silences, the ambient breathing room, and the unspoken pauses. Whether shaping a grounded documentary or an abstract experimental drama, my priority is always to protect the integrity of the subject and the director's vision.

Recently, I spent two years distilling 300 hours of rushes for Fatima, carefully balancing the systemic gravity of trafficking with the tender, everyday intimacies of motherhood. The resulting feature won the Satyajit Ray Golden Award (2025) and streams on SBS Australia. I also crafted the initial assemblies for And, Towards Happy Alleys (73rd Berlinale) and edited An Irrelevant Dialogue, the first SRFTI project to stream on MUBI.

My structural approach to storytelling is rooted in a Master’s in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University, followed by formal film training at the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI).

Today, operating a borderless virtual cutting room, I step in as an active creative partner from script to picture lock. Driven by a commitment to artisan cinema, I am actively building a global body of work and expanding my collaborative footprint into independent creative producing.
